All Patched Up

A passion project that was designed to fully express a person's creativity and talents proudly. For not only peers and others that surround me, but myself as well. The designs are promoted by a popular drawing challenge every year.

WHAT IS THIS ALL ABOUT?

Patches designed for clothing inspired by a yearly drawing challenge Inktober prompts. Each patch is design based on the prompts of the 2021 prompts.

HOW DID YOU START IT?

I started this project by knowing that I wanted to do something along the lines of prompted work based on a single work. From there, the concept for patches was not the first idea. Originally, I wanted to make animations but based on the time spent on the project. That was not possible, from there it was simply deciding whether or not I wanted to create patches or make a mindfulness puzzle and colouring book. That decision came pretty quickly, and use the other idea as the backup if the patches had fell through. Decision was made and a simple set up of cam-recorder and general supplies. Starting the project.

SO, WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS AGAIN?

The reason behind the patches are the same as historically patches emerged, to represent a topic or ourselves. Due to me constantly second guessing myself, the lack of confidence and anxiety I feel at times. I wanted to overcome this, by showing a part of myself and my talents freely and confidently.

ARE YOU AIMING THIS PROJECT TOWARDS ANYONE?

For the same reason on why I am doing this, my passion projected is directed not only people who like patches but to be inspiration for people who lack confidence in themselves. To show that I myself who tends to get anxious over things and who doesn't believe in themselves. That you can do it, and please don't ever let yourself get too wrapped up in your own negative thoughts and be yourself.

FINAL THOUGHTS AND COMMENTS

Although it was challenging to find a suitable supplier to produce my patches. It was fun to explore the prompts and my skills differently. When approaching the prompts, I conducted some research of the words. I tried to do what I didn't find, of course that wasn't always the case. But that was fine, it still allow me to create a new version. It improved my inkling skills and my digital drawing skills. I encourage anyone to try the Inktober challenge. Other than that please enjoy my progress of my project.
